Today is Colter's birthday.

For the first time since he was born in our home, he has a new full-time postal address near the Pacific Ocean in central California.

My hope and wishes for him are clarity, joy, success and wisdom continuing to come his way and unfold before him the way to a good life.

What landscaping companies advertise and market as lawn care, might more appropriately be called lawn carnage when I perform it, mowing, accompanied this morning by music the noise canceling earbuds, from Vivaldi's The Four Seasons.

Work away today, then drive to Columbia for a MD PPA program, followed by the drive home, late.

Sleep, a bit.

Today is my birthday. Frost at dawn giving way to the sun shining.

It is exactly 3,800 days since Charas flew away. It is 59 days since my mother flew away on Valentines Day.

There are no accidents. There is no such thing as coincidence. There is synchronicity. Everything is connected. Everything is illuminated. This is what I believe.

As living beings, creatures of energy, mass and essence, we can measure everything by one standard, a common denominator - the distance from here to there, between you and I, from our loved ones near and far, those living and gone before, time out of mind… by a heartbeat.

Cinnamon Girl present and with her presence the presents she gives are redundant, yet a pair of recently arrived gnomes will be most welcome in the garden.

Calls from both sons from right and left coasts are also most welcome happiness-ings.

Last evening, a pleasant interlude with Shiloh and Melanie. I was coerced by the Cinnamon Girl, Melanie and Shiloh into playing Transformation. This is a board game Simone came by which I apparently was pulled into beginning to play once previously, yet had mostly blocked from my mind. It says, and actually, it is simple to play - once you read the directions and go through it once or so. What the early birds Cinnamon Girl and Melanie neglected to take into account was the price they paid ignoring the insufficient allotment of one hour playing time and then continuing to the completion of the game at about 2:30 A.M., three hours after we first rolled the dice.

A day devoted to stuff and work.

A sunny day, the sun is shining for the 11th Annual Smithsburg Charas Heurich Invitational Track and Field Meet.

This is day of memories and opportunity for reflecting on one's presence of mind at the locus where reminiscence intersects with the present moment, the Now.

A good day with Personal Records for some of the team and a very respectable 2nd place showing for both the girls and the boys.

Charas' surviving grandparents were there in person. She and her other grandparents were there in spirit.
